Dr. Aliya Stretton
I am the principal dentist at Lawton Dental Care; a small village practice in the heart of Alsager. My undergraduate training was at Turner Dental School, Manchester, where I qualified in 1998 with a Bachelors of Dental Surgery (with Honours). As I was a swotty, mature student, I also came away with Bachelors degree in Pathology, again with Honours.
Prior to dentistry I studied and worked as a physiotherapist which enabled me to work my way through dental school.
I always enjoyed studying and have never really stopped; I completed a Masters in Children’s dentistry at Liverpool and more recently a Level 7 in Medical Injectables with Harley Academy; a new qualification , launched to improve the profile of non surgical cosmetic aesthetic treatments, such as dermal fillers and toxin. I am now moving into skin care which will enable me to offer a more holistic service to my clients.
Facial aesthetics is really enjoyable as it links in well with dentistry and allows me to offer other solutions to patients. For example, as we age, many people complain of sore areas at the corners of our mouth, due to the loss of facial height. This may be addressed not only be restoring teeth but also by dermal fillers which volumise and “support” the facial structures better.
Great customer care is our priority at Lawton Dental Care and we offer our patients top quality dental treatment within a warm reassuring environment. Many of our patients come to us on referral which is our best compliment.
I have recently moved to Hartford where my husband and I have now started a self-build project. As my patients know, this has been a particularly challenging time for me, as it has taken some time to get our planning approved. Nonetheless, we are finally building and foundations are nearly done!!
I have a teenage daughter, Yasmin, who is currently taking “A” levels and have been married for 20 years to my husband, Nigel.
Nigel and Yasmin both have a particular type of humour which has probably been a bonus, as I am a great worrier..
Nigel is also a great cook who has stopped me starving to death, as I confess to being a lousy one; frequently, getting distracted and leaving everything to boil dry!!
My other stress reliever is yoga, which I love and am getting very addicted to; who knows, maybe I can incorporate this into my practice in the future!!

Lauren Stone
My name is Lauren Stone.
I’ve been a qualified Dental Nurse since 2012.
I joined Lawton Dental Care in 2014 and have recently taken on the management role in the practice. I really enjoy working at Lawton Dental Care and have loved getting to know all of our patients over the years.
My next challenge is to complete a Treatment Coordinator course which means I will be able to sit and talk you through all the treatment options to help you to make a decision on what treatment would best suit you.
I’ve lived in Burslem for the past 5 years and have slowly been doing up my house. In my spare time I like to go out for walks with my dog, Dottie. Between her and my cat, Daisy, they keep me busy!!
I also found in the first lockdown that I enjoy growing fruit and vegetables from seeds and watching them flourish and look forward to seeing what I can grow this year!
