What is the Difference between Botox and Azzalure?
Both Botox and Azzalure are trade names for Botulinum Toxin Type A which is used for cosmetic anti-wrinkle treatments.
Both are injectable treatments whose aim is to reduce wrinkles and frown lines in the same way; relaxing the facial muscles temporarily
People tend to refer to both treatments as Botox because they are very similar acting products using the same active agent.
We prefer to use Azzalure, as do many other practitioners. It is diluted differently than Botox. Being more concentrated, it needs less dilution to provide the same strength of skin treatment. We have found that a patient experiences less redness following injection with Azzalure than Botox.
Cost wise, Azzalure matches up to Botox and is also FDA-approved and manufactured by a highly-reputable company.
What do Azzalure and Botox Treat?
Conventionally, these cosmetic injectables help to reduce lines in the forehead between the eyes, crow’s feet around the eyes ad lines under the eyes and in the neck area.
Who can access treatment?
Our treatment is open to both men and women, except for breast feeding r pregnant women, following initial medical screening at your first consultation
What happens during treatment?
A small amount of the Azzalure Botulinum Toxin is injected into muscles using a fine needle. The facial area to be treated determines the number of needles needed.
How long does the anti-wrinkle treatment take?
Usually it will last approximately 10-20 minutes for each facial area treated
Will it hurt?
There is no local anesthetic needed for Botox or Azzalure treatments. Most peopled describe a mild discomfort at most and topical anaesthetic cream can be applied.
How long does it take to work and how long does it last?
You should notice an effect within 4-5 days with peak effects coming around the 2-4-week mark. How long it lasts varies with individuals but usually somewhere between 305 months. People who regularly get Botox or Azzalure treatments tend to enjoy longer lasting effects.
Is it a natural looking anti-wrinkle treatment?
The frozen face look is a fear for many people receiving cosmetic injectables. This isn’t a by-product necessarily of Botox or Azzalure but may be a by-product of the practitioner who administers your injections. We want the effects to be noticeable and natural, hence we try to dissuade patients aiming for an excessively smooth look.
How many times will you need to visit our Alsager clinic?
You only need to visit once for your first round of treatment. Further treatment really does vary with the individual. Some people may come at 3 month intervals others may only need to visit 3 times a year.
How much will it cost?
Because the cost varies with treatment needed, we advise you to contact us and discuss your facial treatment plan, then we can advise on cost
Is it safe?
Administered correctly both Botox and Azzalure injectables should be safe. Our practitioner has completed level 7 qualification in medical injectables; our Alsager clinic is a safe and hygienic environment and we only use FDA approved, high quality Botulinum Toxin Type A products
