Sugar is added to all sorts of foods and drinks to make them taste sweet or to preserve their flavour. And it’s not just found in products you’d expect, such as cakes, biscuits, fizzy drinks and desserts. You’ll also find it in things like baked beans, bread and cereal. So, make sure you check the ingredients list on the label so you know how much sugar a product contains.

Frequent consumption can lead to tooth decay. A report by the Royal College of Surgeons published earlier this year showed tooth decay to be the most common reason five- to nine-year-olds were admitted to hospital.

The practice is closed from:

Friday 25th December to Monday 28th December and Friday 1st January 2016 to Sunday 3rd January 2016.

If you have an urgent dental problem that you feel is unable to wait until the surgery reopens:

NHS England provides an emergency service for all patients.

So, if you are experiencing severe pain not controlled by regular pain relief, uncontrolled bleeding, large swelling, dental trauma or any other condition that is causing you to feel acutely unwell please call their dental helpline on 0161 476 9651 for assistance or advice.

For all other patients not experiencing any of these conditions you are advised to contact the practice again when the surgery reopens.
